Built in the 1830s, Treme Market was on the neutral ground of Orleans Avenue between Marais and Robertson streets.

In 1857 the market was expanded to Villere Street.

In 1903 the  single story brick market was valued at $20,000.

Althoug Sam Stone, Jr. & Co. have records for renovation plans in 1933, the building was demolished to provide a more "beautified" approach to the new Municipal Auditorium.

Stall keepers moved into a new Treme Market in the 1500 block of Orleans Avenue.
