In 1903 the Suburban Market, located at 200 North Carrollton Avenue at Iberville was valued at $8,000.

In 1931 the city was accepting bids for its rebuilding which was completed by Sam Stone, Jr. & Co in the same year.

Mary Lou Widmer writes in New Orleans in the Twenties that the market was later used by a rug dealer.  It later housed a flooring buisiness.  Located two-doors down from Angelo Brocato's Carrollton Avenue Italian Ice Cream & Italian Desserts Confectionary, as of 2005 the building was empty and on the market for sale.
