The rebirth of City Park post-Katrina during the early years of the 21st Century in some ways parallels the improvements undertaken by the WPA decades before. Above we see young plantings along Lelong Avenue during the 1930s. Below, approximately the same view in 2007 – the avenue leading to the museum newly planted again. (LDL, DCM)
