LakePontchartrain/WEstreetcar.gif

The West End streetcars ran from the intersection of Canal and Carondelet Streets to the lake along the New Basin Canal. The West End Line developed from the New Orleans and Carrollton Railroad, which was established in 1831.  The West End streecars ran until 1950. This photograph was taken in 1944.
