Lincoln Beach amusement park was located off Hayne Boulevard between Shushan Airport (now Lakefront Airport) and Paris Road. The 1939 photograph (top) shows the proposed location with boulders in place that would contain the man made beach. Note the Hayne Boulevard camps in the background. The aerial photograph (bottom) includes a view of the completed beach project as well as the early stages of construction of the WPA built amusement park. (Courtesy New Orleans Public Library.)
