Camp dwellers had the luxury of opting for eating in or on the lake. During the late 1980’s Andrew Azzarello, Robert Campanella, and John Campanella (top) enjoyed cold watermelon. Some grown-ups (bottom) had boiled crawfish on the back porch in 2004. Camp owners of note included Governor Huey P. Long, Mayor Robert Maestri, Mayor Chep Morrisson, and “Diamond Jim” Moran. President Franklin Roosevelt once stepped off the train in Little Woods to enjoy a brief visit. Elvis Presley’s King Creole was filmed at a Hayne Boulevard Camp.
